This page examines the fictional fantasy world that is called Arath.
What is Arath?
Arath is a fictional fantasy world similar to those of other fantasy role-playing games (RPGs). Arath is an Earth-like world, with five continents, and two moons. A number of fantasy races (some more familiar than others) co-exist on this world, though not always getting along with each other.
What are the Races of Arath?
The primary race of Arath are humans. In addition to humans, there are a number of other races. These include:
- Changelings: Shapeshiftiers who are able to take on the appearance of any of the humanoid races of Arath.
- Dryads: Elfin maidens inhabiting the wilds of Arath, with a natural afinity to trees.
- Elsiren: Proud Elfin warrior women inhabing the tropical regions of Arath.
- Elsikin: Half-breed elfin males, the result of a union between Elsiren and Humans.
- Faejin: Tiny winged fay folk with a powerful link to sorcery.
- Neo-Gin: Shapeshifting feline humanoids who are able to change between human at cat form at will.
- Ograkin: Brutish half-breeds, the result of a union between Ogra and Humans.
What are the Chronicles of Arath?
The Chronicles of Arath is a series of campaign settings all based on the world of Arath. each setting examines the world from a different prospective, be that a different point in the history of the world, or a different geographical region. The first two campaign settings in production include:
- Legacy of the Dark Queen: A look at the world of Arath from the prospective of the Grecekian nations. This setting introduces the world and examine the legacies left behind by the long-extinct dragons, exploring the histories that have made the world what it is. This is a time of epic struggles as the shadows of the past seek to consume the future of the world. Will any heroes be brave enough to play their part in fighting for a better tomorrow, or is Arath doomed to the designs of a dark queen long forgotten?
- City of Eternal Whispers: Legends tell of a city that exists behind the shadow of the day, just out of reach of most normal folk. Simply known as the City of Eternal Whispers (the city has no other tangable name), this setting strives to look at the many metaphysical aspects of Arath, from belief and religious faith, to the mechanics of the planes that exist outside of the known universe. Here the struggle is as much internal as it is against external powers. What is the secret behind the City of Eternal Whispers, and to what extent are the mysterious wardens of the city prepared to go to to keep it’s secrets hidden?
More settings will be written, each exploring a new and different prospective of the World of Arath. Details on these will be published as they become available.
